OK so I reset my Desire last night. Some thoughts...
Titanium Backup - I already had this installed from a previous attempt to root. I upgraded to the Pro edition for £4.79 because I read that you can backup to Dropbox - mistake, you can't :( pretty miffed as I missed the 15 (count them) minute window of opportunity you get to get a refund from the Market.
App Brain - restoring your Apps back to the phone is frustrating and confusing - bit of a mess really! The way it works is that when you synch, it creates a list called on the phone or something similar. In the web app, you'll see your apps all listed, but unless you add these back into the named list, or create another list and merge the apps with that, it won't see your apps when you try and synch. Also, it's time consuming because when you go to the App Brain app on the phone itself to execute the syncs and reinstalls, it still takes you to the Market, where you have to accept the terms for each app and install - 173 apps later, I was so shitting bored I could have thrown the phone out the window.....
Also, don't make the same mistake I did and assume that an app called SMS backup allows you to restore your texts back, because it fecking well doesn't.....
SD move is an essential app
Even after all that, I don't think the phone is any faster - my GF's Wildfire is MUCH faster (although she has nothing on it)
