It's an operating environment at best. A pretty skin into which you can "install" HTML5 "apps".

Yeah at best it's like Chrome Browser, a browser based sandbox for your platform. Developers write for it and the app will run on all the hosts, more of a companion than a replacement for your OS.

Developers are already switching to writing HTML5 sites that are targeted at specific devices because of Apple's in app subscription charging. e.g FT, WSJ other news sources etc So I can't see what Carbyn gives you.
