oscar egg sold
Hi everyone,
I live in Deptford, and I can meet at elephant and castle on weekdays. Not willing to post just yet.
I have for sale these 2 lovely frames;
First is an Oscar Egg, Oscar Egg set up his frame building operation in Paris after a successful first career as a racing cyclist (3-times hour record holder, champion of Switzerland, etc.) and second career as an inventor and manufacturer of bike parts (Super Champion, Osgear, Oscar Egg lugs).
Many paint chips, but no chrome damage or dents, working headset and cottered bb included. If you want to switch to a cotterless bb none of the parts were at all seized, so it shouldnt be a problem. I know the headset locknut looks loose, i was testing to see if it was seized, it is not.
I think they dropouts are simplex, have included photo

56cm c-t-c top tube
this is a lovely and very rare frame, great lugs

Second is a beautiful hand decorated Bates frame. I'm not sure which Bates this was built by, but it was built in the early 1970s for Merid, wife of Yossof (used to have the male counterpart to this beauty but my uncle took it :'(). The entire frame has been hand painted and there are lovely details to the build, such as the rear brake bridge, never seen another like it. The headset is working fine, but in bad cosmetic condition. The bottom bracket is working well.
Included are matching hand painted mud guards in fair condition (except for rails, rusty). A really lovely touch. Other lovely things are the rack fitting, fork ends and painted chain guard.
