  • Saw these outside my flat any clue what they are?

  • Yessss.

  • real chanterelles as oppsoed to the fake ones we find in pretty much all lowland pine forests in the U.K

    nice find,
    eaten 'em yet?

  • Orange Birch Boletes found in the Cairngorm national park this week - yum yum

  • My free food collection of this weekend - sweetcorn from the garden and boletes and blackberries from the forest.

  • this is fast becoming my favorite thread

  • eaten 'em yet?

Missed this, yes butter and garlic on toast, but it was only a taste between four of us.

I nicked my boy's bike to go out today. I punctured. I didn't have my kit with me. I walked.
    But every cloud etc;

Is any one else having any luck? It seems to be less interesting than last year. Wrong type of rain? Faster slugs?

  • I found a load of ceps on hampstead heath today. they are now in my tummy

  • aha
    its that time again
    you lucky man ^^^
trail running yesterday, plenty of manky boletes about,
    some pristine fly agaric
    and several unidentifieds
im all bout daily apple scrumping right now, dont know how people eat the supermarket ones?.

  • Visiting a girl in sweden we decided to go get some mushrooms, she left the guidebook at her other home and just picked random stuff for an adventure. Trying to identify these now via the internets if any of them are edible.
    Any help would be great

  • Very hard from photos to make an identification - The last photo *could *be winter chanterelles but without having them in front of me with a guide I wouldn't like to say as they are not a species I have any experience with.

  • ^ They check a book AFTER eating them. Darwinism right there baby!

Yes, excellent, son't bother with stalk...excellent cooked most ways, but especially good breadcrumbed.

There are two types, the Parasol and the Shaggy Parasol, the shaggy can cause stomach upsets in some people, it is "shaggier", slightly smaller and also easy to identify as it bruises pinky red when damaged....

  • I suppose they could be sulphur tuft, but I wouldn't like to say for sure.

Another early start to the season for me - two of several morels I found. Believe it or not I was working on my mushroom beds in my allotment when I found them.

And yesterday, I found a 1.5 kilo chicken of the woods, which I am going to eat a little of, and use the rest to start a patch in the garden too.

  • start a patch of in my garden
sounds interesting tell me more ?
