Use paselas, and hairdry the logos off!
You should have used tubs.

You're right, I should have. I managed to get my hands on some period alloy tub rims but they were never going to make a good set of wheels.
In the end some amazing quality dunlop stainless steel rims came my way. The other bonus is they're that bit bigger to help reduce the clearance.
I think I'll go down the hairdryer route.

does any one know where to get 27x1 paselas in the uk? the 1.1/4 are too obese IMHO
So I've been building a Holdsworth 1950 track bike for one year now.
It has taken me this long to find all the correct period parts and restore them to brand new.
This bike is going to look pretty damn good (I think anyway).
The last part of the puzzle are tyres........
I've managed to source all components from Europe in the 50's. It took me months to find a sealed bearing manufacturer in the UK but it all worked out in the end. So as it stands nearly everything is made in the UK apart from a few things made in Europe.
This is everything apart from the tyres, they've been a shit to be honest. There are Michelin World Tours which are 27" but look like chunky touring tyres. There are also Panaracer Pasela tyres but these are Japanese.
I'm after some 27" 1 1/8 slick tyres with gum walls from a UK or European company. Something like the tyres on the blue bike on this page:

Anyone got any ideas?
