  • Colour looks much better in good light.

  • And it's done. Token Stem is a bag of shite. Just wanted to make sure I got the length right. Soon to be replaced with a Thomson.

  • really like that. looks alot of fun.

  • Cheers, it is loads of fun! Best thing I've ever done ditching the super skinnys for a bike with 32cs.

What size frame is that, and how tall are you/inside leg?

  • Frame is a Large. I'm 5'10". Not sure what my inside leg is but in that pic the distance from the centre of the bottom bracket to the top of the saddle is 30 1/2" if that's any help.

  • Reach is more important.

Timmy, measure your current frame effective TT, if it's a touch too long, go for one size smaller, too small, one size bigger.

Don't know about more important. Reach definately needs to be right but you don't want to end up with a really low top tube and have to use a stupid high seatpost and a fugly stem/bar setup to get your position right. ;)

Have to take headtube length into account though, right? Medium pomp headtube is about 4 cms shorter than large, but only 1.5cms difference in top tube.

  • Have to take headtube length into account though, right?

It only matters a little bit, mostly if the head tube is too long and you can't get enough drop to the bars without a ludicrously angles stem. Length is really important because having to us a very short or very long stem to get the bike to fit fucks up the handling, whereas having to use 30° stem (either way up) only fucks up the aesthetics.

  • If the TT is 1.5 longer but the head tube is 4cm longer the bars will be higher (will same stem, spacers etc,.) so will negate some of that 1.5. Meaning the difference in stem would be around 1cm which would not mess up the handling. Unless of course this would make the bars too high for your ideal riding position as stated above.

I would go with the 4cm longer head tube as making bars the right height with spacers and upward pointy stem is aesthetic suicide (especially when given the choice if buying new)

  • My pompino is now alive and well in Toronto. At some point (when i have some money) i will paint it. at the moment seriously considering a basket to do the shopping on it.

  • What forks?

  • Kona p2.

  • Kona p2.

Great pic of the bike with Toronto in the back drop, its been years since I've been there brings back memories :)

  • love the rims on the "croxton" what are they ?

    +1

    Open Pro CDs?

  • I think they're deeper than open pros, like semi aeroish

  • Win, have a pair too, wanted to swap out the stock forks but they are working fine, now awaiting the day I decide to put them on.

    Kona p2.

  • semi aeroish

That's almost as good as "Semi-pro" Fixed rider.

  • well thats my official title but I think it sounds a little formal

  • The on-one machinato looks great and weighs in at 2kg for the medium size, not sure if that's light weight or not?

Anyway I'm tempted by it but ideally I'd like to fit mud guards for winter riding, would I be better off with the pompino for that?

  • From what I can see it seems a bit like the difference between a golf and a scirocco... basically the same thing but one is less practical and a bit better looking.

The geo sheet looks the same, the material is the same... apparently they take the same size tyres. So it's just ones got v-brake style bosses, all sorts of braze-ons, ugly stays...shit colours...

...but that's probably the one you need in your life.
