Also has those patterned rims. Braking's average in the dry but there's pretty much no change in efficiency even when riding in the pissing rain for an hour which I discovered at the weekend

Can you enter these on an mtb if you wanted to? ( I have a cross bike but its a single speed )
According to your man at WMCCL:
You can ride any bike in local events, but only Cyclo-Cross bikes in higher categories like Nation Trophy & Championship races as they come under UCI reg's
When a MTB bike is used please remove any Bar Ends as these are considered dangerous to other riders.
Otherwise you can ride any type of bike as long as it's got no engine. -

Yes! I am very prone to feeding thread trolls, that is when I'm not trolling.
TBH I don't particularly like CX, and I think it's daft. But I might give it a go now that the road racing season has finished.
Back when I was a MTB rider, I thought going out in skin tight clothing and riding a road bike was daft, but now look at me.
And back when I was a BMXer I thought MTBing was for pussies.

First it's the 'serious' riding, then the training, then the racing, then a bit of running just to see if you can, then the thinking, then the buying of a 'TT' bike, then the secret trip to the swimming pool.... After that you're training 15-20 hours a week, spending all your money on swimming trunks and other tri-dork stuff and dreaming of Kona (the place not the bike).

Is that where LJ is now? Did he get brain-washed into a tri-dork pyramid scheme?

Love to see a Cyclocross Bike versus a MTB on true cross country Stu =P
Skinny Clothing Pastry..eww..the sight of it..meat and 2 veg trailside..even the most keen know baggies over tights equals etiquette....the horror...
In fairness..I work with Road Riders/Mountain Bikers..we all reached the general opinion on CX..'Wtf is that all about??'
Yep..but not daft..'saft'

Pretty jealous. Got any photos?
Mine must be the basic model if there was one. Has Shimano, Weinmann, Sakae Ringyo stuff on it. From how it's set up - big clearances, knobbly tires, brake lever extensions, bash guard etc. I'd like to think it was built for cyclocross, or at least some canal path shredding. However, it's probably just a piece of gas pipe rubbish!
