I can tell you Mr.muscle is not what you want, used the same thing on some brake levers. Hours of dousing with the stuff only left mild marks in the ano (where it was already worn from 30yrs of sweaty fingers).
supermarket value brand I guess would be best. I got sainsburies student stuff, worked in minutes what mr.useless couldn't do in 2hours.
