Nice work! and a good write-up to boot.
Sounds like the crash you had wasn't too bad but I can imagine how hard it must have been to get out of bed and do the next few days after that. -

It's not about being strong, it's about feeling strong.
Never said you're not fit enough, nobody is, as long you got the mental willpower, you can do it.

I can manage a century but surely you have to be a lot fitter to do it day after day ? I agree will power will get you through a lot but surely at some point your body will say f@@k it ?

Dear WW, I was a bit worried in the first few days that my legs would sooner or later refuse to operate! In training I did a back to back 60 miler and 90 milers (to simulate cycling on less than fresh legs) I never did any more than 2 days in a row. By the end of the lejog, my legs were actually starting to feel better, helped I'm sure by the fact that my last 2 days were shorter. I agree with edscoble that it is as much of a mental thing as physical. Skive, pleasure, hope they help!

On 1 hand it is, by any measure, quite a long way to cycle but the UK is also a wonderfully compact country.
I discovered the exact same thing, even though it's a long way, it doesn't feel like it took that long to get there, what truly bizarre to me is the journey home, it felt quick, but at the same time taking forever.
chapeau for doing it, you've given me further encouragement to do the LEJOG on my fixed wheel bicycle.

A great read! If you can tour on a singlespeed, it gives me the confidence to tour on my 3-speed rather than waiting to finish my touring bike.

Any bicycle can be used for touring, as long it's set-up correctly you'll be fine (i.e. MTB - slicker tyres, fixed wheel - spinner gearing, carbon roadie - bikepacking).

No shit.
Hi all,
Just completed my LEJOG trip. Here is my blog if anyone is thinking of doing it themselves. This site has been really helpful over the last few months so if anyone has any questions, go for it!
