  • So, 24 hour single player polo tournament.

I've been reading up a bit on how they did it in the US, and I've got a fairly good idea how it works now.

I spoke to Harvey about it a few weeks ago, so the only question is if you guys still want to do it.

I'm happy to sort out the scheduling etc, and happy to organise what I can. obviously I'd need you guys to do the on site stuff.

The basic idea would be Saturday -> Sunday, start early afternoon on the Saturday, finish same time Sunday. giving everyone plenty of time to get there, and get back the next day.

You have a big pile of mallets, and two games are sorted out of that at any time (the game on court, and the next game). Other than that it's just luck of the draw. At busy times you will get less games, in the early hours you can probably play as much as you want.

We can also allow for a set game (specific players, such as teams) every hour or so, in exchange for people sitting out of the throwin pile for a while.

People get the goals scored in their games as their points total. So if the games finish 5-2, 3 players get 5 points, the other 3 players get 2 points. At the end of the tournament the player with the most points wins.

You guys don't have heating in the warehouse do you? So maybe not do it in the middle of winter, but either late autumn or early spring.

You wouldn't have to worry about housing (for fairly obvious reasons), but it would be good if we have some mattresses or something in quiet rooms, I guess the two small rooms off court. I assume we could use the roller derby mattresses for that.

Apart from that we'd just have to work out what your costs would be for electricity etc, and work out an entry fee.

    What do you think?
