• I'm on Turbobricks as Dammit, I don't post much but my car build thread is on there- extremely slow moving as it is!

It's getting a full 3" Feritta turbo-back shortly, plus front and rear IPD sways.

What happened to your turbo red block? Sounds like it would have been a riot?

will have to look it up! There are a few blokes about the UK who are fanatics, (raven??, suterman etc) and have almost their own scrapyards. There was a skilled bloke who was building a 142 drag car, his metal work skill was out of this world, but I don't think he ever finished it (health & financial unfortunately) a crying shame.

My red wagon was a hoot, used it for a few months around the NE whilst at uni until eventually it dawned on me that it was a stupid device of death and actually I wanted handling & fun, and not a monster full of headaches. Because it was a bit of a sleeper it started to get me into trouble racing kids in noisy little box cars. So I grew up, and bought a mk2 fiat uno turbo with a lot more boost than the average (160/170hp vs stock 110hp in a car weighing much less than a tonne minus the rust that fell out of it), and that was worse, handled and slightly less daft, but an off @ croft where I thought I was going to crash through teh rotton floor pan and then be run over by my own car put paid to that one :S

In the future if I get money /time/ space will attempt a mod'd D5 + manual + 145 probably have to import it from somewhere drier.
And if I go really mad, a 142/242GT + T5 whiteblock on steroids, for the track :)
