Gios Torino Super Record?

Have my eye on one of these lovely bikes. However £750. Is that too much? Near mint, £500 less than a new Master x.

My normal bike is a Colnago Master Olympic from '92. I've been looking for a track Torino but they are hard to find and quite fakable.

I like vintage bikes with modern but classic gruppo's but I wanted to built a nice clean fixed/SS maybe with a rear coaster brake to make it really clean?

If it's to be a Gios them I may have to offend all those classicists out there and convert a road frame, not for want of looking.

Any, objective views?

You can't compare gios super record with master-x, its a nice well build bike
for the time that produced but miles away from any master characteristics.

You can build as SS almost everything, no reason to have fixed a nice
bike with road specifications. It can not be a speedy track bike and will
wear off too soon for its cost.

A coaster brake is fine for pottering around town, but not much more.

The Gios Super Records are quite sought after collector pieces.
They were only built for around +10 years before Gios moved onto the professional, compact and aerodynamic models.

Obviously the Colnago name has more cache than Gios, but Gios are a very well respected top tier brand like Cinelli, Pinarello, De Rosa, etc.

For a ss build I would probably look at a profesional which has internal cable routing and horizontal dropouts, tight geo like the super record.

As Doctor John says, they are two very different bikes.

Why is the Gios so different to my Master Olympic in terms of characteristics? I assumed it would be very similar. Obviously I have not ridden a Gios.
