  • omg a rolls?! no way, I've never been able to make that work. Any that are shaped like that just don't seem to work for me, there's too much of a curve to what you sit on. I'm surprised you managed 30 miles, I didn't manage 30 feet!

I think I'm going to have to abandon my vanity (it looks so good on the bike!) and stick the ugly but painfree ladies bonty saddle I've got on my Plug...if I persist with the Rolls I fear I may never love/feel again : ?

  • I will probably have the barely used Fizik up for grabs.

I will probably be interested if it is!

  • Me too!

  • A ready market!

I'll be out of the country from next week for 3 weeks, but will sort it out when I get back. Unless someone wants a quick purchase over the weekend - cost me £90, has only been sat on for 5 hours. Yours for £75.

  • Having already bought a bike this month I'm pretty broke...I'll take it off your hands in 3 weeks though (unless someone gets to you with the reddies beforehand)

    Dibs etc etc

  • some good bargains on planet X for saddles, decided to post here as a lot of the boys seem to have posted as well:

This saddle looks ok, anyone tried it?

I need a cheap saddle for my polo bike. I have Brooks on all my bikes as they suit me well, but my polo bike is a DJ bike and the Brooks just doesn't work.
So if the Selle Italia gel flows are the worst kind for me, any recommendations for something that might work?

  • I have a new Selle Italia X2 Lady Saddle, very comfy.

I am a short distance cyclist, few miles to work most days but I did 40k with the new one a couple of weeks ago and had no pain at all. Highly recommended!

  • If anyone has something cheap for sale I'm interested.

  • do you want to borrow/have my Specialized saddle? it's the one that popped off the rails so I'm not entirely trusting of it to keep it on my bike, but it would be fine to try out to see if you like it. I'll be down later today/tomorrow, actually looks like most of this week... possibly SE beers later, possibly.

  • Ah cheers H, that's kind. Although if it popped off the rails then it's probably a bad idea for polo! :-s

  • uh, yeah. lots of gaffa tape?! actually I can imagine (not having played) that it would work well for polo, it's good for variable control/positioning if that makes sense. not sure about tonight now... will bring to friday drinks anyway, no bother.

  • Ah I meant if you're not trusting it to not pop off the rails then I can't imaging it would stand up to polo!
Can't make Friday so no worries, thanks anyway. Might just buy one from Evans if no one has a similar one lying around.

  • yeah I know what you meant and I agree!

  • Just remembered I dreamt about a saddle last night. This is getting ridic!

  • Wicks, I might have a saddle for you, I got it with my pomp deal but will prob not use it.
    It is however, dayglo orange.
    It's one of these http://on-one.co.uk/i/q/SAOOPIV/on-one-pivotal-saddle

haha, I did the same two days ago. Then found a Selle Italia Lady Sport Gel flow at half price in a mountain bike store y'day... hoorah. Have only had one short ride so far but think the cut outs make a difference. It is also nice to actually have both my (wide) sit bones on the saddle, rather than taking turns to slip off.

Thanks forum ladees for the guidance xx

  • Thanks Clefts. I have a stealth thing going on with my bike and sadly I think this will slightly negate that. I hate to be fussy but...

  • Got a brand new saddle to give away. Not sure if it's of any use to you Wicksie as I don't know what bike polo involves. Comes from the 2012 Trek Lexa SL and is a Bontrager Affinity 1 WSD (white though). Doesn't work for me.

  • Let us know how you get on with the lexa? Am thinking of getting one as My First Roadbike...

  • Only ridden it once but I like it. Still getting used to it though as I'm used to steel and campag. If you like, I'll ride it for Brighton and you can try it out. I'm small though - it's a 47cm frame.

  • Ah thanks cranking, that's very kind.
I'm still really superficial and am only looking for a black one to keep the stealth vibe going.
    Thanks anyway!

  • Not superficial at all. A woman after my own heart actually. Not used to all this colour and branding.

Edit previous post: Haven't ridden my new bike much since I only picked it up v recently but I test rode a number of makes and liked the Lexa best.

Will stop cloggin up this thread now.

  • thats massive

  • Does anyone know of bike shops in London that have those sit bone measuring thingys?
