About twenty minutes ago I was eating a yoghurt outside Sainsbury's Islington when a chap in a TT helmet went past on a red and black BMC.

On Saturday I was harangued at Highbury Corner by a rampaging fixie gang, probably taking part in one of those illegal "alleyway races". Under duress I was ordered by one of them to perform some simple trick for their amusement. Stoically I complied, like a dancing bear at the circus. They, satisfied that I had adequately demeaned myself, departed in another direction, knocking over bins and frightening old ladies, probably.

What was the trick?
