  • I'm not gonna go on like I'm the fixed guru, as I'm still quite new to it and learning all the time. There's a ton of really good people on here who will give you plenty of help and advice with everything to do with fixed, just ask about or search for stuff - I'm sure someone has asked similar questions at some point! www.sheldonbrown.com is a treasure trove of fixed gear related stuff.

    I bought a old road frame that was already stripped down to the bare metal to make it easier for me to get sprayed up. I don't have any wheels that I could convert, so I opted for buying a new set with a flip flop hub - I don't really intend using the other side, but it is good to know that it's there if I need it. Pretty much everything else has been bought new and are not the most expensive of parts, but it will allow me to get riding and progress over time.
