Ha, I think it's been Brixton Village for a few years, but no one ever called it that.
LAP unsuccessfully tried to destroy Granville Arcade to replace it with a massive shopping centre, and it got listed status linked to the fact that it was one of the first streets in the world ever to have electric lights (hence the Electric Avenue).
This stopped LAP from knocking it down, so they decided to move more £$ middle class people things into it - Spacemakers arrived and used the Brixton Village name.
Everyone except Cla'ham types still seem to call it Granville.
Still a fair bit of animosity going on - old tenants are being priced out as rents increase, and they're not getting the advantages of the 100% rent reduction offers that the new restaurants are getting, despite having been there with flaking paint and terrible toilets for the last decade.
