Like these, if so are they worth the cash.

  • using road cranks and removing one chainring is gonna screw around with your chainline. Also, you'll have to buy another set of chainring bolts as the current one's will be too long. extra expense. you'll also probably need a tool to take them off.

See this thread for more details of budget chainsets

  • Has anyone seen any images of the Crank Brothers cranks? They're pretty new (don't even think they've priced them yet) but are delicious...

  • Has anyone seen any images of the Crank Brothers...

    You have, care to share.

  • Genius user ID, I used to live in the same building as Matt Berry.

  • Anyone got a good recomendation on a set of cranks that I can set up with small chain rings? looking at going down to a 34 tooth (ish)

  • any mtn bike crank.

  • can sugino messenger go down to 34t?

  • ive searched on the search but nothing came up
i know there was a thread a couple of weeks ago about 165 cranks
has anyone ever run a 140
if you have can i have some pros and cons please
    thanks

  • I only ride 141.. 140 sucks.. not enough torque!

seriously though . . why would you?

  • i was just wondering

  • think of it in tems of gearing 140/170 is equivilant of 14 teeth at rear versus 17 teeth at rear - a big difference. basically means less leverage but less spinning.

  • It will be the same amount of spinning (that is dictated by the size of chain ring) just in a smaller circle. You will have less leverage and they will feel like you're riding a child's bike.

    But seriously, why would you?

  • i wouldnt
i was looking at single chainsets on sjs and they had 140s
they were for kids bikes but i read someware on the net that some people run them
but that was for mtb ing to get some clearance

  • I dont think any full sized adults run 140's unless they are some recumbent etc..

Im pretty short but tbh, im actually getting sick of my 165's

  • another one of those threads that people start and say "has anyone got, or looking for..."
that will be gone by the morning, forever into the depths of the primordial interether swamp,
    enjoy

  • unless it gets bumped
