I want in, and think I may be able to swing the child care, but only have a fixed available. (insert lfgss brownie points here).
Does anyone have gears in my size I could borrow?
Not really expecting a yes here, but the force is often strong on TNRC...

Possibly, what size frame do you need?
I was going to make a comment about you being a lanky streak of piss but had a pot kettle moment of realisation.

By the way everyone, make sure you bring enough food and water to cover the whole ride. There will be a pub at just over the half way mark that you could get some crisps from (no beer please!), and a petrol station just before the climb up Sundridge Hill, but there is no guarantee that this will still be open when we roll past.

Yep, lanky streak of piss size is about right for me. I'm 6'2" and my Condor is a 58, I think.

Is the route that bad on fixed?
-
• #3944
There are a number of substantial climbs on the route, some as steep as 20%, and you have to get up and down them. It's doable on fixed, but would be a challenging ride.

I did the sportive ride last year, don't think I'd enjoy doing it fixed.
-
• #3947
^ bit of a sausage fest.
-
• #3948
Don't have a geared bike. Might withdraw and await the next route, then.
-
• #3949
Where's the post about the essence of TNRC?
Doing routes you wouldn't normally attempt with only one gear?(he says while not signing up for said ride)
