  • So what's the craic? I'm gonna read the whole 380 page thread, sorry. I like riding my bike but it seems none of my mates really do, so I need to get some new ones. When and where can I meet these potential new friends?

I currently only ride fixed but I'm planning on getting a road bike in the near future, if that makes any difference? Also, I live in west hampstead, so if anyone near me is riding to where ever it is you ride to, let me tag along please.

  • What time do you guys usually get started on a Tuesday? I think I'll be on gears and having some fun on Swains tomorrow afternoon...

Might be doing laps as well. If I'm not feeling great than it#ll just be RP though.

  • It's meant to piss it down tomorrow. Not doing laps of anywhere as a result.
Will be up for a couple of earlyish pints but can't stay late unfortunately.

And so our paths will miss each other again my friend..... I will be up cause I need to pick up a surly hub from Matt but not before 8 I reckon, though if it's pissing it down I may leave SE as quickly as possible and retreat to the hills...

  • bloody hell i was JUST listening to this track!!! oh owen why did u leave...why???? :-)

  • I know it's tedious trying to keep up with this, but these are only in the first ten! You must catch up mate. Do some homework.

Rule #5 / Harden The Fuck Up.

Rule #9 / If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Fair-weather riding is a luxury reserved for Sunday afternoons and wide boulevards. Those who ride in foul weather – be it cold, wet, or inordinately hot – are members of a special club of riders who, on the morning of a big ride, pull back the curtain to check the weather and, upon seeing rain falling from the skies, allow a wry smile to spread across their face. This is a rider who loves the work.

I will be being an badass tomorrow night.

  • I love rule #9. Except when I forget to attach my fucking mudgard.

  • Rule #7 / Tan lines should be cultivated and kept razor sharp.
Under no circumstances should one be rolling up their sleeves or shorts in an effort to somehow diminish one’s tan lines. Sleeveless jerseys are under no circumstances to be employed.

Laps isn't badass (not even sure I'd call it riding - it's training) it's fucking dull, especially swains laps with wheel skipping up the hill on wet leaves. If someone has a ride in mind I'll join in. I'm out on the 10th whatever the weather and will be riding tomorrow (unlike some on the last wet norths) just not doing laps in it...

i actually like riding in the rain........it washes away my sins......what i dont like is fucking double decker buses and blackcabs driving blind into me

your rules are tedious my friend and are for geeks....time of the month!!!

  • Damn - I've just blurred all my tan-lines.

Oh well you won't notice them under my waterproofs anyway.

I will ride the hill even if it's raining...quite a lot.

Will you ride, dare I say it, the 'fcuk' out of them?

  • Every single pair of non cycling shorts I've seen you cycle in contradict rule 7.

Well I can't say I've even seen swains but I'm guessing it's fairly steep.I used to ride up archway rd every day though, but that was on gears.

I can do pentonville rise fixed without breaking too much of a sweat. I know that's not quite as steep mind.

So providing I finish work on time, I'll just show up at the flask and introduce myself to whichever group of people looks least threatening.
