Yeah this, on a BMX you're travelling alot slower, your feet aren't attached to the pedals and you can stop pedalling... what I was getting at was try taking a foot off and jamming in yer back wheel while pedalling with the other... am sure someone somewhere can do it, but I couldn't.
...
this talk about the DOs and DONTs of oversized BMX is getting seriously boring.

Almost, almost finished this. I have a 7400 RD for it, just waiting for a new jockey cage. Those brifters are Dura Ace and I was determined not to like them but they're just... great. I really don't like the aesthetic of them, but am slowly coming round to the idea. I think.
Bars need to be rewrapped, hence the jumble of cables at the front.
Also, the White balance on my phone is firked.

Rode with a guy today that had a smaller version of one of those, twas immaculate, looked like it came out of the box yesterday. style of paint is nicer in real life than photo.

Did he have Campag or 600?
Mine is called a prologue, I think the campag one was a squadra. I'm not sure if one is higher in the range or what, or if they are simply different years.
Frames are the same I think.

ongoing project... got the dolan track champion frame about 2 weeks ago, and kind of just thrown parts on so i had something to ride, since then i have got a sugino crankset fitted with stronglight chainring, now running 48t upfront 16t rear. shadow half link chain. also got some carbon forks from ebay. going to get this wheel set ordered next week and keeping my eyes out for a nice aero seatpost.

• #50188
any reason you're ordering tubulars?
-
• #50189
oops linked the wrong ones, going for the clincher ones from the same ebay store*

Well, buy them here instead, £99.99 and i think delivery may be free....
http://www.dolan-bikes.com/Navigator%20Pista%20Track%20Wheels
you can also add reasonable tyres and tubes for £15, but of course you already have those...

Spent a very enjoyable week last week on the frame building course at Downland cycles in Canterbury.
Probably drove them mad, but came home with a serviceable 58 sq frame, a few blisters, and a shed load of skills I didn't have a week ago :)

Looks good. That frame is a really similar design to mine, just minus the
kink in the seat stays, and i think it might have slightly more compact geometry. It'll be intersting to compare all three side by side when we're all finished building them. -

my road bike. bought this frame of hilary around 6 months ago and have just got around to taking any sort of picture. its a 2005 i think Giant TCR with mixed campag groupset. I do have a matching front wheel but my brother gave me the one pictured (campag hubs to bianchi rims) which simply is so much better. a brand called "real design" looking for a rear anyone know anything? (mdcc) runs really nice all i need to do is get some proper bartape and sort out wheels.

there's a good deal for 105 at merlin at the moment.
it might look shit, but it does the job very well. -

or you could get ultegra for the same price as rival (http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/Bike+Shop/Road+Parts/Transmission/Groupsets+-+Road+Bike/Shimano+Ultegra+6700+Groupset_ULTEGRA-6700-GROUPSET.htm), or force or chorus for a little bit more.

(i'd go for chorus) -

• #50198
fair enough,
i've heard good things about sram although have not ridden any of the road stuff. -
• #50199
ive heard the double tap system can take some getting used to. but it does look bloody awesome
-

I'm not sure whether I prefer SRAM or Shimano systems... campag def comes 3rd though.
SRAM has a really positive feel when you shift, and looks boss.
Sometimes I prefer double tap, sometimes I prefer STI.
um just nitpicking, but your b screw is too tight and your chain is too long.
beautiful job. after all that work, why no chainguard and guide? helpful.
