  • I didnt read the rules please delete post

  • Too small thank goodness. Lovely tho.

  • I need this in my life...

  • I know someone that wants this frame...PMing you

  • wait, u have this listed on ebay too?

  • wait, u have this listed on ebay too?

Yes, is that not allowed, thought it was ok as long as i didn't link to it... also willing to let it go cheaper to forum member with donation to forum. thought that would keep people happy

  • I'm afraid you've broken the rules, for that we confiscate the item from you ;-)

  • what's the new frame?

  • what's the new frame?

A rare Colnago Titanio (round top tube version) in natural titanium colour.

However just found a 1985 Peugeot PY-10 FC in mint condition cheaper, always had a soft spot for them, although i hear the alu/carbon bonded frames can be death traps...

Will stick to the Titanium i think

  • you swap that for a titanium colnago? .....jesus

  • Why not?

The carbon frame above was made in Taiwan. The Titanio was made in Colnago's own Cambiago factory.

  • Not that there's anything wrong with Taiwanese made frames but if you want a Colnago may as well get a real one.

  • you swap that for a titanium colnago? .....jesus

Yes it may seem strange, i am 37 and grew up in an era of 531 frames, and more traditional geometry. This was long before the Carbon and Aluminium frames of today.

The closest you got were the vitus 979 aluminium/carbon bonded frames, ie Robert Millars TDF bike 1984 (rebadged by peugeot 'PY10 FC Fiber de carbone')

However the best frames were always Titanium, or at least that was the word on the street. Litespeed started banging out good frames on the late 90's as did Raleigh Specialist Products division

I bought the C50 having read a million review on them, it is truly amazing but i have the niggle in my brain that i wont feel quite right till i get a Titanium steed

Cant afford two thoroughbred's in the stable....

  • Why not?

The carbon frame above was made in Taiwan. The Titanio was made in Colnago's own Cambiago factory.

    TAIWAN! are you mad

C50's are or at least were made in italy with Carbon Fibre from the same factory that supply Ferrari and Lamborghini..... Cant find the link to prove it, it's on the interweb somehwere :)

  • i know a few roadbike journo's. the c50 is the kind of frame that doesn't get given back to the distributor in a hurry. swapping that for an overrated ti frame is madness.

  • Not that there's anything wrong with Taiwanese made frames but if you want a Colnago may as well get a real one.

exactly, not a russian titanium one.

Yes, i'm sure many will agree with you, however to quote the great song by U2 "love is blindness"

  • Can you give it to me for free?

That's quite interesting. I've never ridden C50 but have a C40 and C35. I also have an unbuilt Titanio Oval but never thought it could match the C40. Regarding the carbon - C35 was made by Ferrari and cooked in their kilns. C40 was also definitely made in Italy.

  • This still comes down to, read the rules, can't be here and on fleabay. You decide.

  • You going to regret selling this, really prefer my C40 to a ti frame I've ridden on!
Must admit both are hard to compare but still!

  • still available?

  • still available?

    sent you PM

It depends on the age up to 2005 all Colnago carbon frame were made in house. From 2006 on wards production of some of their carbon frames was switched to factories in Taiwan.

I make no assertions as to your particular frame as like I said. I've no idea of the age of your frame or which particular models are now made in Taiwan versus Italy.

  • Colnago, unlike some of their competitors, are very clear about which frames are made in Taiwan and which are still made in Italy.
