^^ you can comfortably run 700x35mm on Mavic Open pro's. Think it probably depends on the rim in question

If you've got a 15mm or wider rim they'll be fine according to sheldon. A 15mm run will run 23-32mm. you may get away with 32 on 13mm but that advice is worth what you paid for it ;)

If you are running 23mm you may not have enough frame clearance to run 32mm.

Someone in my office who rides to work has Mavic CXP33's with some very wide mountain bike tyres.

My guess is he just has to regularly make sure they're well inflated. Probably a slightly higher chance of a pinch puncture otherwise

SDW - Rim type is usually irrelevant as long as it's the right diameter, in this case 700c. The second number refers to the mm width of the tire. Narrower tires are faster, fatter tires more grippy and shock absorbing.

You only need to worry about the clearances your frame offers, often higher end race frames have very tight frame clearances that will only allow a max tyre width of say 26-28mm. So, if there's plenty of room either side of your existing 23mm tires then you would be fine with these.

32mm is pretty fat though, more for a touring bike or hybrid.

32's also good for the inevitable rainy season. I was told these are basically slicks with grip.
They get very good reviews, I just have no use for them now as my steel steed was written off before I could fit them ;(
