For insurance, assuming your bike can be replaced relatively straightforwardly, surely the best advice is to buy the cheapest lock your insurance allows for.
By buying insurance, you're basically assuming it's going to get nicked anyway.
I see this list more as a list of locks to self-insure with.
I would not see any of the locks here, even the mighty Fahg, as "self-insurance" - it is just tougher than most others, not impervious. 3 minutes with a power tool and even it will give up.
And, having once cut off an abus lock from our fence with a power tool and not one passerby stopping to ask or taking any interest, I am not fooled into thinking good locks are my insurance. Tip - put on an orange safety vest and no one will think anything of it.
Am not against good locks (in fact am a strong advocate) or do I foolishly think insurance is my savour (I have never got any true value back from an insurer!), just that they are complimentary.
