  • Can someone recommend me a catflap?

We've got a sureflap - it learns your cat's chip and only opens for that one.

  • Battery powered, or mains?

I had a look at the chip sensing ones, and power seemed to be a big issue- this was a while ago however.

  • I have a battery powered one. I think I've replaced the batteries once in the last 3 years... a little light comes on to warn you when it's running low (still weeks left though).

  • Which one do you have?

The major stumbling block that I have is that any flap would need to go into a double glazed panel, and that's looking pricey.

  • this one...

When I lived oop North we always had a normal catflap and never had any unwanted visitors. As a result, I always thought these ones were overkill. However, it seems London cats are proper rude bwoys who think nothing of sneaking into other peoples houses and pissing everywhere!

  • oh, and no magnetic collars means you won't come home to find kitty hanging from a tree branch, with a leg stuck through it, or covered in cutlery picked up out of the sink!

  • Used to have a magnetic one- James used to come back with other cats collars stuck to his, somewhat oddly.

We have interlopers Kitler #1 and Kitler #2 around here, so would like to deny them entry, chip based seems the way to go.

Now to solve the glass issue...

  • Clockwise from left: judgemental, evil, evil, long, angry, judgemental.

It's battery powered, the 'pet porte' is mains powered (I'm not a cat flap geek, honest...). Batteries last forever though. Don't know how you'd get it through double glazing though...

Happy to say that the boy Paraffin is back to himself after the sewing incident, more bendy than ever.

We had a magnetic cat flap for a while it was not so great, but did provide amusement when we worked out that the clatter from the kitchen was Caldicot with an empty tuna tin from the bin bag attached to his collar!

  • He's a good looking cat ... reminds me of my granny's cat Tinker :-)

  • want a pet

  • sorry... t'internet garlic bread... it's all fangled...

  • Ha!
Spot on CYOA, luckily he spares us the celebration and substitute the ball for stolen Q-tips from the wife's make up kit.
Not sure I fancy myself as 'arry either....

  • When I saw the post title I thought it was going to tell me how I can send my cat by Royal Mail!
Nice pics and definitely worth joining to see cats etc - any funny poses or more like the dog with the slice of lemon?

  • I don't have any pets, or access to pets, but the foxes that live behind our flat are cute:

    Cute!
but nasty little beasts. A local farmer went from just sheep to some sheep but mostly weird alien hairless chicken things (stink and escape lots). The local fox population has grown from maybe 1, to at least two families (10+). They take everything, chickens, peasents, peacocks :( and some new peoples kitten.
Don't have cats anymore, just dogs, both of which have a tendency to chase things so not worried about foxi'es anymore.

    They take the peasants!?

My gf & her brother are mildly allergic to cats, but both own cats, and have built up tolerance to their own cats.

  • Ah, they look happy.:)
