How can Arsene, bemoan, Barca coming in cheap with their bid for Fabregas, then shove in an equally derisory bid for Cahill, Everyone knows he's got money, and everyone knows he needs to shore up his defence, everyone knows he's interested in Cahill, so why offer a reported 8 million, you know bolton aren't going to sell him for that, especially when the less accomplished, experienced jones went from blackburn for twice that, obviously factoring bonuses, and what not into that figure...

Fabregas had 4 years remaining on his contract, Cahill is entering the final year of his so Bolton can either cash in now or lose him for nothing next summer. A cheeky bid to test their resolve seems a sensible option.
