It doesn't need to be any thicker or stiffer than it is for riding on super soft surfaces, which is what the 1OOmm rims and 4.7" tires are designed for.
Saying 'It's shit tape' is ridiculous. Do you have first hand experience of using either it or the rims? Snowcat rims have been run that way for a long time with no problems. It only needs to be enough to stop the tube rubbing the edges of the cutouts, and the fact that there is less pressure in the tube means less chance of the strip failing anyway.
