I've just ordered a pair of the smart R1, only £10.49 with free delivery , rude not to really
currently on the rear i have a cateye TL-LD1100 on the rear, which is good except for the bracket which requires a zip tie to keep the light facing horizontal, and on the front i have a supernova E3 triple, which is driven from an alfine dynamo, superb piece of kit , fit and forget , no charging of batterys, its always on , and nothing like what most people think a dynamo light is capable of , 800 lumens

Has anyone seen this on Kickstarter?
Some guy in America's raising funding for his revolights, lights on the rim of your wheel that stay in position while in motion, based on how many RPMs you're pulling

It's all about the dynamo hubs.^^

Blackburn Flea on the front (rear one died from crud caking, didn't like being that wet apparently). RSP Astrum rear light. Both are wicked bright and angled for maximum visibility.. I'd rather someone complained the light was too bright than me complain about them having their car in my spleen.
That kickstarter link reminds me of Monkeylectric: http://www.monkeylectric.com

The single led ones? If so good luck.
In the rain and a dark evening those lights just don't show up.

Can you imagine if I actually spoke like that? It is what I have true enough, but I know they aren't enough but just haven't got something brighter and better. Too far down on a list of things to buy for my bike. The USB rechargble blackrover (?), are they honestly a serious upgrade from knogs?
I think the LFGSS (Lonely Gay Bike Society) attitude just doesn't suit me. I need to toughen up and honestly not give a fuck.

ref march so a bit of a necroquote, but I've got one of these and it's like being chased by hell. Excellent rear light.

just wrap it around the seal with some cling film in wet weather as they like to switch off once water gets in them.
I have two and in spite of the poor rain sealing I think they're awesome for the money.

yes. they are visible from space. -
• #339
Does not light the road in front of, or behind, you. A cyclist visible only from the side is a bit like cars driving around only with undercarriage neon lighting.

These were £55 a year ago, I can vouch for them:

...and what is wrong with this?

It's a secondary lighting system. If we don't agree that you need a good strong front and rear light for safe night riding, then we're too far apart to even get into this discussion. Interesting idea, but for £10 I can get spoke lights that will make be just as visible from the side.

Aroogah repped for perfect dismissal and avoidance of debate with someone with limited cognitive powers.

Negged for not noticing that the video states they give 360 visibility. The lights protrude the tyre edge giving forward visibility

Anyone used the Magicshine rear light?
I have the uber powerful front one, and figured I'd run the rear off the same battery for shortish rides/commuting. Together with some reelights as back up.

Equally interested in feedback on the magicshine (MJ-818 apparently), to give the recumbent a bit of a boost in the grey drizzle Glasgow does so well. Nothing in the lights thread apart from general good things about magicshine...
I do that (rapidly opening and closing fist with palm facing driver) to communicate to drivers either to A) turn off your fucking indicators if you are not turning anywhere, or B) use your fucking indicators if you are turning....
I do usually wonder if they have any idea what I am doing though, but it does seem to work.
