I used to work in music PR, for people like Tresor, Musicman, Delsin etc. So much of this thread is pure euphoric recall for me.
One of the best spotters of talent I know is Oli who runs Mental Groove in Switzerland.
He told me about the Koln boys years before Kompakt became famous in the UK. Miss Kittin was his girlfriend and worked in the record shop - she turned me onto Boards of Canada before they were on Warp. Oli has released early tracks by Cassy, Kittin, Luciano, Soul Clap, Quarion and Darkstar. He is like the Anthony Wilson of techno, never makes anyone sign a contract and they then go off and do big things elsewhere.
