For Sale: Team Lotto Movistar Vitus OCT (1998)

  • Hi all,

I've decided to have a bit of a clear out and with great reluctance am parting with an extremely rare piece of cycling history. The Vitus OCT was a carbon tubed variant of the 992, with ovalised carbon fibre tubes bonded to aluminium lugs. It was the first exponent of the integrated headset and runs with straight bladed forks.

This frame was one of a very few Lotto Movistar frames from the 1998 season that made it into the public domain and history seems very hard to come buy, the only photographic evidence I've found on line is here http://www.cyclingarchives.com/ploegfiche.php?id=9805.

Now I want to be up front about this frame, it does have a few issues that you need to be aware of before buying.

    1. The seat pin is fused into the frame. At it's current setting center BB to rails is 635mm. I have been infrormed that it may be possible to free the seat tube but have not explored this option too much.

    2. The front mech hanger has become detached and replaced with a band on collar. I have the original that could be refitted (Isuppose?)

    3. There are various marks on the paintwork that should be expected for a frame of it's age.

The frame is 52cm and comes with integrated headset and a campagnolo bottom bracket

Similar frames without the Lotto Movistar are currently selling for $5-600, but given the condition described above I'm looking for £150, have a look at the photo's and let me know what you think?

    PM Me.....
