  • We've got 1 of these frames, but have been waiting ages for the maker to get back to us re: BB & Headset spec.

Can any of you track boffins out there point in the right direction?
We only bought three of these on a whim it was like getting the Hanzo sword in Kill Bill.

    See below for description

Ganwell Kasei NJS/Keirin Certified Track Frameset
Handmade in Japan by master craftsmen this is a rare opportunity to own a piece of cycling history.

Constructed from "Kasei" steel tubing throughout the frame is fully lugged and specifically designed for track racing. Fully NJS/Keiren certified, this is one of a small batch of highest quality steel frames. Ganwell roll their own steel and use a carbon rich alloy to create fast, responsive race bikes- taking steel frame technology into the future.

  • It will take one of these...

The crown race diameter is slightly larger than a standard headset crown race.

  • Most English tpi BB's will fit... but this matches the headset.

  • Cheers Andy!

  • Mr Doi (RIP) of Kyoto, Japan - the orginal builder of the Keirin aspect of GANWELL had past away several years ago.

A Keirin builder (Maeda frames) came out of retirement to keep Gan Well going today.

    HS - are either 26.4 or 27.0 - fork crown ,1" threaded
    BB are English 1370 x 24
Rear spacing is 110mm or 120mm
Seat post sizes are 26.8, 27.0 and 27.2
Tubing range from Keisei, Columbus, etc
Most use Lon Shen, Kalavinka lugs or Kalavinka old Suntour, Shimano and 3Rensho ends

  • My Japanese NJS certified bike uses an English threaded BB and a JIS size headset the euro ISO size will not fit... JIS is the important bit. there is only about 0.2mm difference between the two sizes but that'll be enough to bring on your touretts.

  • It all comes down to what the racer whats within NJS standards.

I have a Campy BB and Campy Italian HS on one of my bikes.

The thing to watch for HS is the fork crown race size.

    Most are 27.0

Just buy NJS approved HS and BB.

  • Looks great. What's the difference between Ganwell and Ganwell Pro?

  • Nothing. It's like the Bridgestone - Bridgestone Anchor name change.

Also Panasonic used to be National Panasonic.

Also Panasonic used to be National Panasonic.

    Name is just National.

It is because Panasonic is/was the National brand of Japan.

They like most Japanese companies make everything.

Stores that sell Panasonic electronics are still called National.

Bridgestone Anchor is a team/model brand.

Ganwell is still Ganwell but Mr Dio (RIP) made Ganwell Pro which is an Keirin model at the time.

Madea has changed the Ganwell logo but don't know if he is making them for Euro Asia.

  • Do you have any other new keirin frames - am looking for 58cm
