I've had a lot of fun with this bike already today - in really good nick and a pleasure to ride and actually just look at. Thanks, Pat.

Ha!
Good news mate, have fun!If your mate wants that other frame and fork, let me know ;o)
If you wanted to put a nice comment in the 'good traders' thread near the top of the main page, that would be cool :o)

Hi, this is owen.
Enjoyed seeing the super bike cave....and still very interested in the frame and fork.
But I need to figure out a little more about how much it would cost to build up and so on....any chance you'd be able to send me what you know about it so I can do a little digging?
Thanks!

Hi mate, no problem, if you look on here for the thread with 'unknown Columbus EL OS frame and fork' in the title, you should find what I know :0)
I'm on my phone at the minute, but will try to find the link ;0) -

Ok, it's got to be done I think. It demands to be built, and I'll enjoy the project...are you around Sunday at all? I might be able to come pick it up in person.

;o)
I'm glad..........
Yep, I'll be around, but give me a call beforehand.....I think I'm playing football in the morning, but could collect you from the station in the afternoon to save you the walk up the hill!!

Sure, will do. I have access to a car for the day, so hopefully won't have to do a station stopover / trek.
Nice old tourer style town bike up for grabs.....
It has a 3 speed Sturmey rear hub dated 92 which is more than likely original to the bike, so it's a 92!
It is called a 'Direct Elite Supreme' and while it is probably Elite as there are no others like it around, it isn't supreme.......it goes directly in a straight line if you want it to though.
There is a dynamo fitted, but no working as it has the wires dissconnected from the front light and is missing the rear lens form the light.
It is a lovely shade of purple, with a few bits of surface rust on bits and bobs where birds have shite on it etc and the chrome is flaky on the bars and edge of the rims, but a bit of work with tin foil should get them looking better....I haven't tried.
All it needs is a bolt to hold on the non driveside crank arm, as this is missing.....If I can get one from somewhere, I will fit it before collection.
Its about a 23" frame....I'll measure later/tomorrow and 26" 1 3/8ths tyres......
All in all, this should make a nice daily commuter that will outlast a modern, more expensive generic thing.
