Frame and forks: Raleigh, raw finish, good headbadge, 52cm, straight and sweet
Wheels: Front- Campag hub laced to dark grey Mavic GP4 rim; hex-key skewer, Rear- MTB disc front hub converted for rear use and laced to silver Mavic semi-V rim, nutted axle, Velosolo bolt-on cog (19t)
Chainset: Sugino GS 42t
Pedals: Black, steel, black plastic toeclips with straps
Bars and stem: Silver cut-down risers and SR (I think) stem
Seatpost: Generic chromed steel
Saddle: Vintage Brooks, proofided and laced. Lots of patina and good tension, looks and feels great.
Tyres: Vittoria Techno-sport TT 23c, plus a spare pair
The bike also has a new bottom-bracket and fresh bearings in the headset.
It may look like a beater (so you can leave it outside the pub or the shop without fearing it'll get nicked) but it is bang-on mechanically with no faults or vices (so it's a pleasure to ride). I built it as a reliable, theft-proof knock-about-town, low geared, brakeless *fixie skidda, *for those days when I just don't wanna take my best bike out. In this role it has excelled, but is now surplus to requirements. All this hand-built loveliness can be yours for somewhere near £130. Prepared to entertain offers and deals within reason.
Free collection from Newcastle-upon-Tyne or I can post in the UK for about £20.
