Hmm don't know... Depends how much sulphuric acid and a source of manganese costs...
I think manganese salts shouldn't be a problem... Will have to look around to find a source of sulphuric acid.
Actually food colouring might work instead of manganese.
Guess I'd also need to get a glass container I could fit poles into... That might be expensive... I'd be doing them one at a time... but I guess a pole sized glass container would actually be the biggest expense... Can you get really long pirex dishes?!
