Max looked at the Battersea one when he was considering the bench minor I think. I don't think they were receptive to bikes?
yerp, werent interested. we'd destroy the wood floor with pedals/bars and the like

Giesen court looks awesome. Might contend with Downs for best court in Europe*.

There's a London Roller Derby scene. I wonder what venues they use, and whether any of them might be suitable for us?

And, lo, they have a contact page for suggesting potential venues:
http://www.londonrollergirls.com/help-us-find-a-new-venue
** Help Us Find Venues ** The London Rollergirls are always on the lookout for new venues!
This is the best way we can ensure that more fans get to see us in action. We have sold out every single league bout for well over 2 years now, and we always need more space. If you have ideas or know of a venue that might be suitableā¦PLEASE let us know at info@londonrollergirls.com! You will get all sorts of rewards and rollergirl love if it comes good.
We are also always looking for new training venues. If you know of a derelict warehouse / double-width basketball court / large gym we could use for training and/or public events then get in touch by emailing info@londonrollergirls.com. -

I know they did one event here: http://www.eco.co.uk/venue/brompton-hall/14/152

the first vauxhall one is where we used to play souths in summer. it would be a great beginners court, but they close the park quite early so you have to leave. The city farm court has the same sort of surface as the bermondsey court, spongey but 'ok'. I have never seen the lights on though, but i have always liked the idea of that court.

Probably out of our league, but without knowing the cost, it's hard to say.

I would like to go ahead and take this statement out of context.

Downs lighting can apparently now be booked and used for bike polo.
...the flood lights for the MUGA at Hackney Downs can be booked through GLL, bookings have to be taken 48 hours in advance. Contact 020 8986 7955 or email hackneysportsbookings@gll.org to book.
If we have problems we need to let Bruce know and he'll jump on it. Feel free to give them a ring/find out more info, I'm not sure about pricing, etc.

Cool.
Sunset is at 20:20 now, so I guess it would only be of interest if we can book it from 8pm onwards at the moment.

I'll stick that info in the OP of the NE thread Jono.

• #644
would be interesting to see if we can block book, say tuesdays for a few months..
what's to stop other fools using our lights if we have booked?

Vidal. Agreed about the block booking (possible discount) thing.

I think there will be a bike polo place at the Herne Hill velodrome when it is finished

^ this is true. roller hockey is not as big in the uk. They often play/train in wooden sports hall's. There is a rink in bisely at the gun club but they are not open to bikes on there surafce and it's not that great abit small and shit...i played at bisely and a placce in north wales deeside but it might of closed. Roller hockey is just not that big and they make do and play in sports halls. They will b slippey too. Unless you can get a concrete one built. Clubs aren't pushing for places as they can still play on wooden floors.

There is pretty much nothing suitable around these parts to use.
I'd be focusing more on a purpose built polo court with cover..how does that red hot chili peppers song go?
