Whats the story with avoiding customs then??
You gotta pay ax if you get caught? Or even worse do they confiscate the item??? -

You pay 20% VAT on the goods + shipping plus ~5% (for bicycle components) duty on just the goods, plus £8-£15 to the delivery agent for collecting the tax. In the olden days, you'd quite often get small packages through the post uninspected, but ITTET they seem to be hitting you for import taxes on everything, and the thresholds for gifts and personal imports are now so low that pretty much nothing that's worth posting is exempt.
If you find some Omniums (Omnia?) for $150 shipped, you should assume the total you'll pay to actually get them in your hands will be about £125

It was planet-x a year or two ago. They had em at £89.99 including the chainring and BB if I remember correctly.
Hey there,
I am after a new crankset for my Leader 725 and I am sure that I have seen someone post a link to a new Sram Ominium crank somewhere for £80.
I think it was possibly a wiggle.co.uk link but I've done a good ole search and cannot seem to find it!!
If anyone knows where and what I'm talking about let me know.
if I am dreaming this I am sure the flaming will begin about........
