  • Lightweight 56cm Raleigh racer, Reynolds 753 steel. Pearlescent white paint job
    Cinelli drop road bars.
    Cinelli stem.
    Campagnolo threaded headset.
    Chrome forks.
Mavic MA40 rims - smoky brown in colour, 36 spokes laced to QR shimano 600 hubs.
New Schwalbe Blizzard kevlar belted tyres.
    Shimano 600 brakeset and hoods.
Aero seatpost, BLB saddle, slight tear on back left corner - see pics.
Shimano Biopace chainrings - 53,42. Shimano 600 cranks and BB, Shimano Tiagra rear mech, Shimano Tiagra 9 speed cassette.
    LOOK pro carbon pedals.

    The bad points:
There is a small patch of rust that has bubbled the paintwork on the back of the downtube, and the smallest of dings on the top tube about half way down - have shown both in the pictures. Its running a flat tyre on the back wheel, but ill have a new inner tube in it by the time its collected!

This bike is nearing 25 years old, generally it is in beautiful nick, the crome is PERFECT, all original parts from when bought except for chain, tyres, saddle and brake pads.
Had a refurb paint job approx 4 years ago.
Has been very well looked after, rides beautifully.
Viewings welcome, dibs followed by PM.
    Pick up in Peckham.

    £300

  • nice

  • If it's 753 I'm almost certain it should have an SB frame number. Special Build division at Ilkeston.
Which would be worth adding to the info.
    Good price.

  • my thoughts exactly
SB's are rare machines / team machines / custom builds
    753r SB's even rarer

  • Thanks BONK, the number is SB6089

  • White bikes CAN look nice!

  • dibs for a friend. PM to follow shortly

  • Really good price for a late edition SB build with decent parts.

I wonder who it was for?

  • the yahoo raleigh sb / ilkeston forum has a good database of sb numbers and their history

  • If I could in any way justify another bike I would have dibsed this 2 hrs ago...

  • Dammit! this is what keeps me glued...

  • This is back up for grabs, the lad who was interested was 6"2, and the bike is too small for him......

  • I'm assuming the chrome was done at the time of the refurb? Raleigh would never have chrome plated 753 except maybe just the dropouts because the polishing required for a good finish thins it out too much and makes it very brittle. Peugeot plated the rear stays on their 753s and thats why many of them snap where they join at the drop outs.

  • Beautiful photographs of a beautiful bicycle

  • any chance loading a couple photos here? my browser wont support flickr cos Im in Italy (back to london in 2 weeks)
dont worry if its a hassle
would love to see it, sounds like a deal, need a road bike.

  • Interested! would this suit someone around 5'8?

  • actually, it's too big. Ignore! Still lovely though.

  • Still got it chaps, plenty of positive comments, but no buyers.

Someone please take it off my hands......

  • have PMed you.
