Of course you are right on the one hand as there are plenty of similar words I don't take such objection to, but it is a far more loaded vulgarism than many others - it is used to shock and is genuinely more shocking than all other words I know of. I think so anyway.
But there's also the various negative uses of the word in literature and the fact that it has also been used to suggest sex is the primary function of a woman. I could go on but I doubt anyone is that bothered. So I wont :) To be honest it didn't bother me all that much until I read it 100 times on this bloody thread.
