I'm not having a go but...what exactly do you find offensive about it?

I'm sure at some point in your life you have used the word dick, nob, prick or twat?

All those are slang for genitalia but those seem to be perfectly acceptable.

Think everyone misses the point - if I've ever heard someone use "the word" in anger I haven't once thought "ooh, thats uncalled for - they just essentially referred to that person as a vagina".
C*** has just become a very expressive word (albeit low form of expression).
In the same way, someone standing at the side of the road, witnesses a terrible car crash and shouts out "FUUUUCK!" - they're not thinking about sex.
