thanks for all the suggestions.
I got the magnet ball out of the seatpost bolt. I tried to epoxy something to it but it didnt hold.
I was going to drill the bolt out and replace it with a new one but then I just drilled a tiny pilot hole into the bolt next to the ball and using a safety pin I popped out the magnet ball.
saved the bolt and damage to the frame with a tiny hole placed in a strategic location. -

I've got the bits necessary to make a home made one left over from when I bought mine (so threaded 13mm, nuts, washers, bits of innertube to keep centered). It works perfectly, couple of quid/couple of polish beers? Or just borrow it.
I'm in Forest Hill if you want it.

I have a crank puller, chain breaker, wrenches, alans keys, bottom bracket wrench, in NW6...feel free to drop a message if you're in need and in the neighbourhood!
Anyone been on or used quirky.com? its a crowd sourcing website for product design...if you have a good idea for a product that you think could do well on the market then do a quick sketch up and post it on their site, i remember seeing a thread on here that was something like 'my ideal multi-tool' there were some really good ideas that these guys could actually make and if you submit a chosen idea, you get a percentage of the sales! go crowd sourcing! (i personally like the idea) http://www.quirky.com/?r=ef551d5b071a11ea5c97efd3a558e0d7
