Lex Lane, probably best to not get your knickers in a bunch about the responses you've received, but £500 for a bike, that you've admittedly upgraded, is too much.
You're selling it secondhand, and as much as you want to recoup the costs from your outlay on upgrading, you'll not get anything near that on this forum, take off 150-200 quid and maybe. If you split, and sell individually, you'll probably get back to your asking price.
But splitting and selling can be a ballache, which is why most don't do it, and if you didn't give a toss whether it sells or not, why offer it in the first place. Just let it keep being a towel rack and everyone's happy.
And one last point, your statement that it's easily adapted for the velodrome, can be pointed at pretty much every OTP track bike out there, take off front brake, put on drops. Voila, you have track bike. The Plug is not special in this regard, and it being a heavy frame, usually counts against it in the velodrome stakes.
Hope you sell it at some point and make back as much of your money as you can.
