Wanted: Need a 48/49cm frame/comp bike for the tiny missus - impossible?

Struggling to find anything decent on here or the bay. She's 5' 1" and I've been trying to upgrade her vintage tank so she can keep up! Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Hoping for a nice SS around the £300 mark ideally but will try anything close...

Fuji do a nice fixed bike with 650 wheels which is ideal for smaller people. I bought one off ebay a couple of years ago for my grandson and he loves it. I think I paid about £250 for a complete bike. I reckon its a 49 cm frame. My wife finds it comfortable as well and she is 5 ft 2ins. Good luck with the search.

There is someone selling a complete pink fixed maybe a single speed here recently. Have a look on the sale bit, you might have to dig deep but I remember it being less than 300. If pink is her colour! Will have a look for you when I get back to my computer later.

Condor sell a great sub-50cm road frame, with 700s I think. Jenny J has one. CTC has some good info about women-specific and smaller bikes. Islabikes sell some great small bikes, with 650 and 700s but extra-compact frames for youths and smaller adults, including a track bike that I imagine could have brakes fitted for a freewheel.

Thanks for the comments guys, just tested a resprayed campag eqiped racer on broadway market for £250 but it was gone when we went back an hour later!

Am currently in negotiations with ile about the pink 531 and may go and have a peak tomorrow (but reading is a looong ting)

Am checking all other possibilitied mentioned but feel free to expand away on the thread, she's quite up for gears too for the right price.

Thanks for all the helpfull additions, lots of nice fixie options but after trying one, she wants a geared bike so she can come with on jaunts to the country.

Any idea where i can get a 49cm Geared Racer, pref with a light tubeset? or a frame i can build up? she seems to think these things grow on trees...
