I also thought Ellipses were clinchers.
-
• #6
they are clinchers
Conti Supersonics are clincher tyres too :) (albeit VERY lightweight expensive ones) -
• #7
That's me told, I would double check but they're in London and I'm still in Bristol.
Lovely wheels anyway.

just a query, why is the front with a silver finish on brake area of rim?
-
• #9
are you trolling, doctor?
-
• #10
no just interested, as wasnt sure if these were track specific or had braking surfaces , is trolling whatever it is, bad??
-
• #11
no, you just kinda answered you question within your question. its a braking surface. so its machined.
i just spotted your yellow star and thought you were being a loller.
-
• #12
aaaah indeed more of a loller these days/and i think these are a very nice set of wheels!
-
• #13
I run this wheel/tyre combo on the track and very happy with it.
In regards to the price, maybe a bit high. I'd say a mint set with tyres is worth £250 max.
All the best with the sale. -
• #14
The front is machined for a brake yeah.
-
• #15
has the black surface been rubbed off by a brake?
pretty sure they came without a silver machined brake surface -
• #16
Hi would you be willing to sell just the rear? Thanks
-
• #17

pretty sure they came without a silver machined brake surfaceNope, never seen a brake. No wear at all just silver.
-
• #18
I'd rather try an shift them as a pair unless you know anyone who'd want the front.
-
• #19
price drop - £250
-
• #20
Shame you won't post in really need a rear one of these looks like chain reaction
-
• #21
I could post if I can get hold of a suitably sized box I guess.
-
• #22
The fronts machined but there's no brake wear at all its just silver. As far as I'm aware they've only ever been ridden on the track as I got them on my koga which was the guy used to train with at Newport.

Then your awareness is lacking. Ellipses don't have machined brake tracks, they are black all over as they come out of the box, so silver brake track = been used on the road.
They're tough as old boots and well up to road use, but don't pretend these ones have never been outdoors. Also, they're the old version with the yellow decals, 2011 white decal ones are lighter, and £320 new

then you have been lied too twice.
a, they are tubs
b, they do not have a silver brake surface, they are made for for track, with unmachined side walls. -

Magic ellipse wheelset with continental gp supersonics. Only used these on the track at Newport but am moving to the big smoke so I need to shift them. Got miche carriers on both threads that I can leave on if you want em.
Price £250 picked up from hackney or could come meet you central.
