your gear, like mine, was too spinny... at least you got to coast down the steep bit :-)
i was consistently getting borderline cramp on the descent before the "hilly bit" too

i tried again this week, but got stung on the neck by a wasp and went home after one lap; 19:20.
maybe tomorrow...what kind of difference is proper clothes likely to make, by the way? i was wearing denim shorts and a t-shirt, with trainers on platform pedals.. maybe now is the time for proper kit.

did this again last night on gears. was bloody windy and just missed the 1 hour cut. the wind was right in my face for the whole exposed section at the north of the park.

average speed 19.6mphtanatalisingly close. without the wind i am pretty certain i would have cracked it... will try again next week.

After a weekend mile-munching and the last few days 'resting' (read: drinking) I thought I'd head out to see if any of this fabled 'recovery' had taken place. Felt dire on the way over there, and my legs would implode at the first sign of an incline. So no. Fastest RP laps yet for me though, which was a bit of a surprise.

There was a group of three eurobrand-clad dickheads on tt bikes that jumped some lights I was sitting at on the way in to the park. I followed them along Priory Lane then gave them a 5 minute head start while I checked my phone at the cafe. Caught them on the home straight on lap 3. Not at all petty. As much as going round in circles is going round in circles, I enjoy Regents Park a lot more than Richmond I think. Fewer inclines to humiliate me I guess.

Got a new PB this morning for 1 lap, I got round in 17.45, average speed of 22.6 mph. Nice day for it

Had a go at this today; Geared, 1:04. Not got any exact splits but they were all pretty similar - if I say traffic cost me a minute (which it might have), it still leaves me with a minute per lap to find - must try (train) harder!

I did a few laps out there today. It was windy as hell and there were loads of cars, including a Ferrari going sooooo sloooow. Oh, and a stag holding up the traffic.
My fastest lap was a lethargic 19 mins, but the hills, oddly, felt easier on a 48:17 fixed gearing.

C'mon dude! You can do it. Best time I've found so far is Mid-afternoon (empty but slightly windy) or VERY early Saturday mornings.
Saturday week before last at 6.15am I smashed my PB by almost a minute, from 20.24 to 19.36.Helped a bit that I'd just upgraded from ALX200's ---> RS80's but still! ;D

How many laps of RP has anyone ridden in one go. I have to confess to have never haing done more than six at a sitting. The legendary Warrick Spence is alleged to have ridden 11 straight laps before boredom took over. I am tempted to attempt 15.

Did 7.5 last Thursday afternoon in 30c before going to wests. My best by a lap.

My attempt was a 630 a.m, slightly hungover attempt on Tuesday morning. Counter-clockwise from Roehampton on 44 x 17 SS. Felt not amazing starting out.
First: 21.10. Fuuuuu.......
Second 1/15: Was angry that I felt like shit and was already behind time to make it under an hour and I was not going to get faster so I spun another lap easy and went home.
Third: Would You Like to Continue? 10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...0...GAME OVER.
