  • I may have remembered this wrong, but in the States you have misdemeanors and felonies, and if guilty of the latter you lose the right to vote, licence a weapon, and a few other things- or did I make that up?

    I believe the right to vote is decided on a state-by-state basis. Factoid: in the US you do not actually vote for the president. Your vote is just taken into consideration by someone else who then votes for the president on your behalf. (The Electoral College)
