  • Cool! Having wondered how often we might expect updates on how the new works are going, the answer appears to be... every minute!

  • That's awesome thanks for sharing.

  • Such a shame it rained on the last day, i wanted to have a introduction course, cannot wait till sept when it reopens! XD

  • Has the webcam been turned off?

  • Think it stopped working in the first week.

  • i took my youngest out for a spin last night around regents park, and i mentioned that we will be going to herne hill velodrome when the track resurfacing is done, she appears completely oblivious to track cycling, but i know when we get there she will enjoy it :) and when she goes to ghent or any of the race meetings or see it on the telly, she'll be hooked..

  • I tried to get a sneaky peek on Sunday but it was all locked up. Anyone know if the gates are likely to be open on Saturday, as they were a few days after the work started?

  • What you need is a periscope

  • Its probably best to read the signs that say "Track closed for resurfacing - no unauthorised access".

The webcam wasn't appreciated by those in power, but some pictures are up now: http://www.hernehillvelodrome.com/resurfacing

  • its looking yummy!

  • Loving the "Back in Black" meet!

  • Please don't try to access the Velodrome until it is officially open.

The contractors do not take kindly to the public turning up and it only serves to delay the progress.

  • ^ Shouldn't the contractors have proper signage clearly demonstrating its a building site....

    JC, webcam..... I am disapoint...

What like "closed" and "no entry" ?

    They do

  • Two page feature in Building magazine about the track resurfacing.

I'll post an extract here once I've found the login for the online version.

  • Have they actually put a lane divider line down the middle of the track?? Has anyone told them its not a road....are we gonna see double yellow lines round the inside and a disabled parking bay on it soon?

  • Not sure why you think that's funny... is it a joke about builders?

It's for the contra flow system on Bank Holiday Weekends. They had to empty three of the bike containers just to store the cones.
