I grew up in the same esates, went to the same schools, got the same grades and have the same job prospects and time on my hands as these kids, many of which are my age..
but for some reason I have no urge for violence or free tv's.
I would suggest that the issue lies further back than the credit crunch or Tory cuts..
This is not a new problem, the attitude of lawlessness has lingered for a long time, and I blame a lack of discipline at home and in schools.
