Just got back in. Cycled over onto Peckham Rye about 2 mins away by bike. Have a few snaps on my phone. Basically the crowd there was all young and excited, the vibe was like completely powerless young men (and a few girls but mainly men) suddenly felt like they had power and people (the police and media) were sitting up and noticing them. But the violence was all mindless and pointless. It was like a game for them. Bricks were being thrown through the windows of the Burger King (I shed a flame grilled tear) while riot police lined up and slowly marched forward. It was all a bit crap - like snotty teenagers rebelling against weary parents. But where the f*ck are their parents?!
