Basically it's been a bit scratchy on the pots since I bought it (mex wiring + sweating on stage with it = scratchy pots). The thread went on the top of them a long time ago so they always felt wobbly.
If I played more bass I'd keep it and just buy a new control bit for it. You can get standard parts here http://www.axesrus.com/axeWiringBass.htm and they're probably better than the originals tbh.
The bass has a lot going for it, the neck is fit as fuck and it took me a long time to find a bass that I enjoyed playing as much (72 Reissue Precision is the only bass Fender seem to make with the same feeling neck now).
The wiring is totally functional as it is, it could just do with replacement pots basically.
I also never liked the look of the all in one pickguard, so I'd also get a control plate/pickguard off ebay.
