Any suggestions for 48h front hubs to go with these rims?
Push sold me Surly hubs for my 48h wheels.

I bought some super cheap chain reaction ones, worked out at £17 a pair... no doubt they won't last that long, but it's only for the Archie/polo loaner.

The BLB trick hubs work out at about £70 per pair... Nice hubs, I like mine a lot...

Can i give one of you boys cash monies?
Paypal is asking me to confirm my card AGAIN, last time it took forever.
-
• #137
Yeah, no probs, whichever one of us sees you first (we both have rims at ours). I'm at Newt tomorrow and Weds and NE on Thursday/Friday I reckon.

Ok, up until the London Open, polo players can now get 10% off a single BLB 48h hub and 15% off a pair of BLB hubs.
The BLB hubs and sputnik rims should be a mean combo, look out for more polo player BLB discounts in the future too!
(Technically for LHBPA members, but I'm sure they'll give the discount to all polo players.)

Nice one, Jono. What is that percentage off? I have no idea how much BLB hubs are.
-
• #140
Not sure, maybe Cosmic or Dead Rappers can chime in? They're not cheap but are meant to be good quality (new quality bearing and axel setup, etc).

I've never had issues with blb hubs, use them for both polo and commuting.
nice one, jono

I've also used blb hubs for my last couple of polo wheels, one must have done circa 3,500 miles commuting and about 24 sessions of polo... Only stopped using it because I broke the rim it's still attached to.
Think they are £35 or £40 each though, which is pretty expensive when some of you are paying £7 for bmx hubs!

I think most of the rims are unmachined (wears through but doesn't look quite as "clean"),
I had to push my bike down hill because the noise from braking was bloody curdling. Any tips on wearing through the anodizing any quicker?
#embarrassing.I also have a bent 48h sputnik rim for £10, braking surface if anyone wants? Might be able to be bent back in, it's about 5mm out...
-
• #145
Toe in your brake blocks properly, it might take a bit of tweaking but you should be able to get them silent even with the black coating.
-
• #146
Ah really? Ace. I didn't set my brakes up so next step was toeing. I didn't think they'd be completely silent though judging from the noise.
Phew. Cheers E. -

I like the squeal, warns pedestrians I'm about to run them over...

Oven cleaner dissolves aluminium oxide (the anodised coating). It also takes away material from your rims so if you do go down this route, use it sparingly. -

We still have 26 rims in stock, roll up, roll up, get them while they're hot..!
Jon - Weekend works best for me but any evening after work next week is fine, I'm in no real rush for them.
