Wanted: to borrow - a Sat Nav with France mapping

I left my Tomtom behind in the last rental van I had - it has conveniently never been found (Thanks SIXT Battersea!).

I'm off to France on holidays for 2 weeks on Sunday and I could do with a sat nav with France mapping for that time - the hire one is 10€ per day so 150€ to rent seems a bit steep...

I've also checked the o2 roaming charges to use my iPhone, at £5 per MB, that's not happening either...

Anyone has one I could borrow for 2 weeks? I would leave you a £££ deposit & return the favour by getting you a bottle of champagne / bike parts / a burger+pints.

Don't know about the iphone, but the latest version of google maps allows you to download the data and save it on the phone.
google maps on iphone? Dunno.

You can "buy" the tomtom app for your phone which has all the maps stored on it and then only requires GPS so no data charges. There are other cheaper programs as well.
I was looking awhile ago and found full euro loaded satnavs for around £70 or less.
I just ended up jailbreaking my itouch and loaded the app on and used there instead.

£80, cheaper than renting one and I can get a bracket to use it on my bike too...

I could have done you a copy of Auto route 2007 for a quid, I do all my pre-plotted routes on that..
When actually on the bike I still like using paper maps, mMuch more fun than the GPS et al :o)
